ABOUT US

OUR RANCH

Aardwolf Alpacas is a full time, full service alpaca ranch with 35 acres, four barns, and totally fenced pastures,  We have the space and facilities for continued growth which will allow us to provide service that exceeds the expectations of our customers in a fun, professional manner.
We purchased our first Alpacas in October 2005 - Aardwolf Alpacas was born.  With many tough lessons and a whole lot of fun, we've grown to 40 animals and looking forward to 23 new babies (cria) in 2011. Visit us regularly and watch us grow!
New in 2010, we have added a Bed & Breakfast for your convenience.  We also added Ranch Vacations, where you can work "hands on" to learn about alpacas and enjoy the "Gateway to the Rockies".

MIKE

Mike Moser grew up in Ogden, Utah, where he married and raised 5 children. After getting a degree in manufacturing engineering and an MBA, his pursuits moved him to New Mexico where he met Phyllis and "discovered" alpacas. Mike is a  full time Alpaca Rancher that does all the "hands on" work and caring for the alpacas.  When time allows, he does small contractor jobs, remodeling and building additions on houses. He loves the hours and can go fishing when the weather is nice or ski when the powder is calling.   A recent passion for Mike and Phyllis is Send Out Cards (www.sendarealcard.com).  We use it market our alpacas, stay in contact with family, friends, and clients, and touch someone life.  It's some thing we all have a need for and can use!!

PHYLLIS

Phyllis Swenson grew up in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Through the years she has enjoyed two careers, as an Architect and a Database Software Developer (her true passion). She has two teenage girls in Albuquerque, where she spends a week a month. She recently reorganized her career to do the software support, on a full time basis, from the ranch, support Mike's construction work with her Architecture, develop alpaca websites and marketing leads,  watch for new cria (babies), and work hands-on with the alpacas.  Whew, Mike gets the easy end of this partnership!!

OTHER TIDBITS

Curious what an Aardwolf is? It is a type of hyena in Africa. Aard means "of the earth",  wolf needs no explanation. Click this link to the photos of Aardwolves.
